The Delights of the North Norfolk Coastline

I have been visiting Norfolk for about 30 years now and every visits still feels as fresh and exciting as the first. There is a beautiful simplicity in the combination of flintstone, red pantiled roofs and green fields giving on to the salt marshes and immense beaches. When we visited recently I took the opportunity to use my new Fujifilm XT-1 to capture the beauty of the coastline which stretches from Hunstanton to Sherringham and then beyond to Cromer. I just love the XT-1! It is light and versatile with clear, detailed images and great low light capability. It now travels everywhere with me alongside my Nikon D810.

For some reason I’m always drawn to photographing boats, often singly if I can isolate them in my compositions. I love the wear and tear they show; it has a similar resonance for me as the derelict places that I visit. The skies in Norfolk are huge and dramatic rather than monotonous grey or bright blue and I hope that you will like the skies in the images included here.
